Laser Hair Removal - Huid Rotterdam
I wanted to do this procedure for years, since I heard of it actually, but every time I started researching, I found so much information and a lot of different opinions. Some say it’s worth it, some say it is not. Some say that IPL is better, others say Laser, and I never really understood the difference.
And then you find those crazy offers: for just 100€, 5 sessions all over the body!! I am a fool for offers but never on my face and body.
So, I said ok I’ll postpone for a while.
Like all things in life, when we do not get that tiny extra push we put them aside for later.
This spring I was approached on Instagram by Huid Rotterdam for a collaboration, they offered me 4 laser hair removal sessions in exchange for content on my Instagram, portraying my experience and my honest opinion.
So of course I said yes! It was what I wanted to try for a long time.

How to get there - The clinic is located in a beautiful central part of Rotterdam, easy to find and to get there, by bike, public transport or car. (Also easy to park)
The neighbourhood is so beautiful that every time after my appointment I stayed for a coffee at the cafes nearby. Just a pleasure💕
The staff is amazing, the girls are all friendly but professional and they make you feel exactly at home. It made me sorry I just had to go so rare for this procedure haha.
The clinic is beautifully decorated, cleaner than a hospital ER room and with the latest tech equipment.

You can also have a skin analysis session for free where they will recommend what treatments you need. A friend of mine tried their fruit peeling and was more than satisfied.

Laser Hair removal procedure
This is so simple I made a 1 min movie. But some basic things you need to know beforehand.
Before the procedure and during you have to shave. No wax or what you used before! You have to forget these painful techniques because you will not have to ever do them again! Lucky with the new tech huh?
Not indicated during summer time, I only did axles for now and they are not so much exposed to sun. Also, I live in The Netherlands, so the yearly day of summer will not affect me, but it's good to know. Laser procedures and sun do not work well.
You need 4-7 sessions, depending on your hair. Sessions will be 6 weeks apart. I am blondish and after one session I did not have to shave for 4 weeks. After the second session I had no more hair, some fluff that's all. From this I conclude that 4 sessions are enough for me.
It is not permanent. But do not worry, nothing is in life. After the initial sessions you might need a refresh session every year or so, depending on your skin type, hair type and hormones. But I guarantee it is totally worth it!
Difference between Laser and IPL
The key difference between laser and IPL is the type of light. Professional laser treatment is working more selective and therefore the very high energy will focus on the hair follicle rather than surrounding skin.
Conclusion: Laser has better results on hair removal!
Let’s talk price!
There is a misconception here, because indeed if you calculate the final price at the beginning, it is costly, but when you think that you do it every 6 weeks… Practically, every month and a half you invest in yourself from 80€ to 250€ (depending of the desired area) and after that you will never have to torture yourself ever again! No more pouring hot wax on your skin, no more pulling your hairs one by one with an expensive machine every week. Doesn’t that sound good?💞
