Make your home a creative place
I wanted to make my home a more creative place for quite some time, but I was never good at decorating. Maybe because I never really looked into what options are out there.
When Photowall contacted me for a collaboration I was quite excited. Photowall is a Swedish wall-art company that creates inspirational living spaces with personality. Even though they had a lot of beautiful items I decided to choose a wallpaper for which they have more than 14000 motifs. I never had wallpaper in my house and gosh I had no idea what I was missing out.

I live in a beautiful house but an old one, my walls were plain and not so smooth. It gave a cold feeling to the room and also I could never get any good photos inside. I never really thought of wallpaper because I had the preconception that it is hard to install and difficult to maintain. As a photo makes 1000 words let me show you the before and after:
The package arrived in 3 days, very quick in my opinion, and looked like this. The wallpaper was organized in 10 vertical rolls , all numbered that needed to be cut and a pack of wallpaper glue. The quality of the paper is premium and you can feel that from the first feeling.
So let the fun begin, I am not good at DIY but always found it fun so I will explain the steps of setting up your own wallpaper. It took me 2 hours to finish everything. I did that together with a friend which I would recommend you too, especially when gluing the stripes, 4 eyes are always better than 2 but all in all it was very easy overall.
Let's talk a bit about the whole process and what you need:

Wallpaper glue powder (This is included in the package)
A bucket of min 5 L to mix the paste
A glue brush to apply the glue to the wall
A wallpaper brush to get the wallpaper tight to the wall
A spirit level to check if it aligns perfectly horizontally and vertically
A sharp wallpaper trimming knife or snap blade
A pair of scissors
Tape measure and a pencil
Clean clothes
You also have the option to buy the kit from them which I recommend.
Preparation:
First thing you need to do is clean the wall you want to install it on with soap and water with a sponge.
Cut the wallpaper into pieces, and very important the bottom side cut it nice on the line, the upper side (the numbered one) will be cut after the installation with a cutter. Organize them in ascending order so it's easy to pick them up later.
You have to draw lines using the spirit level to guide the direction of the wallpaper. They came together so easily after the first one was on the wall that it was just amazing!
Installation:
Apply the wallpaper glue on the wall using the glue brush and go a bit beyond the lines. One wallpaper strip, one line of glue. Don't put it on the whole wall, otherwise it dries!
After placing one wallpaper strip, fit it firmly and get the extra wallpaper paste out. For that use the wallpaper brush to get it tight on the wall.
Make sure you don’t have bubbles or places the wallpaper does not stick. If this happens, gently remove the wallpaper and add more glue and then place the strip back.
You need a cloth to clean the wallpaper brush so that you don't carry the glue everywhere on the wallpaper.
Done? Yuppy ! Now you cut the margins ! With a good cutter those go just fine.

Clean the wallpaper with a wet cloth (very few water in the cloth, just humid) for extra glue.
Put your furniture back, if you have, and enjoy this magnificent wallpaper as I do!
You can also check the official video of how to do it, as I am not an expert but I did nail it this time haha. It took me 2 hours overall to install it, as a relatively clumsy person with no experience! If I wore to do it again it would take me allot less time.
Overall Experience:
I strongly believe this is the most beautiful thing I have done for my house and for myself. I have it for 5 days now and every time I enter my bedroom I get so happy and can't stop telling myself: wow this is so beautiful.
It has completely changed my bedroom, it has changed my daily mood and it has made me more creative . The best change I have made in my house so I recommend it with all my heart.
